Do you know how many times I repeat the title of my post to myself? It always feels like life with settle down after we get past a certain event, but who am I kidding? Life is permanently crazy and chaotic! But really, life will get back to some semblance of normal next week. Really.
We got home from Florida on Tuesday afternoon and I am having the hardest time getting back into my normal routine. It’s been awful. I still don’t even have the suitcases unpacked. I managed to wash, dry and fold 8 loads of laundry yesterday, though, so at least we have clean clothes now. That’s what really matters, right?
I have so many great posts planned about Kelvin’s birthday party (complete with the Boy Birthday Invitations I got him) and all of the stuff we did during the two weeks we were in Florida. Stay tuned!
My little man has finally decided he will be potty trained. This is the little guy that I was certain would be potty trained well before 2.5 years. Last year, before his 2nd birthday, he was already very interested in the potty and sometimes went an entire day without accidents. But then he suddenly decided potty training wasn’t for him and it has been a fight to get him to use it at all since then. I’d nearly given up hope….I would have put more faith in unsecured business loans than in him being potty trained by the time he was 3!
But now, right around his 3rd birthday, he is finally making progress! I have no idea what changed, but he’s been doing really well with using the potty most days and sometimes he even wakes up dry. Incidentally, he does better at using the potty when we’re out and about than at home. I think at home, he’s so caught up in playing or whatever he’s doing that he just forgets. But even with several accidents, he’s still doing very well.
Chad mentioned once that it would be nice if he were potty trained before we went to Disney World so we wouldn’t have to lug around so many diapers, and now every time he goes on the potty, he says, “We’re going to Disney World!” So cute!
Now I just have to hope that our trip won’t screw up his progress and that he’ll be willing to continue using the potty in Florida!
