Every January, I interview the kids and record their answers.  I can’t remember where I got the list of questions that I use, but they work well for us.  This is my interview with Ava this year (and here is last year’s and the year before’s) .  Any responses or prompts from me are in quotation marks.

What is your name?  Ava

How old are you? 4.  “You’re 4?”  NO!  5!

{Insert meltdown because she saw me write 4 on the paper}

When is your birthday?  March 21st.  You know that.

Who is your mom?  Mom.

What does your mom do during the day?  Nurse Carter.  Sweep the floors.  Clean the house.  Play with me.  Do school with me.  Play with me outside.

Who is your daddy?  Chad.

What does Daddy do during the day?  Go to work.  Go to church with us.

What is your favorite color?  PINK!

What is your favorite song?  That’s a hard one, Mom.  “Oh Be Careful Little Eyes.”

What do you want to do when you are a grown-up? Work at a zoo.

Where do you want to live when you grow up?  Wisconsin

What is your favorite food?  Cake.

What is your least favorite food?  Peas.  Blech!

What is your favorite animal?  Totally a panda!  I love pandas!

What do mama and daddy do when you go to bed?  Watch movies.

Who does our family love the most?  Me.

What is your favorite ice cream flavor?  Chocolate.

Where do you like to eat?  HuHot.

What is your favorite book?  Red Hot Rider.  “You mean Little Red Riding Hood?”  Yeah.

What is your favorite toy?  Dolls.

How do you like to spend your time?  I really like to be by my own.  I don’t like playing, because Kelvin always tried to play with me.  I really like playing with Mom.

What is your favorite thing that happened last year?  Disney World!  Seeing the alligator farm!  Mini-golfing!
