“The Day” is almost here.  After several delays and re-schedulings {is that a word?}, my brother David is leaving this weekend to become a Marine.  I have very mixed feelings.  One on hand, I’m so flipping proud of him.  He’s going to be awesome.  On the other hand, he’s my baby brother and I’m worried about him.  Basic training is no joke and I’m going to be praying for him every single day.

Several years ago, I heard this song for the first time and for some reason, I thought of David.  Every time I’ve heard it since then, he’s always jumped to mind.  Now it seems so appropriate for this situation.

Love you, David!!  I’ll pray for you every day and write you letters and I’m already looking forward to coming up to see you after you graduate from basic training!  We are so, so, so proud of you!
