Last year, around this time I bought a Boba 3G baby carrier.  I was apprehensive at the time.  It was a big investment, and what if we didn’t like it?

I shouldn’t have worried.  I loved it then and I still love it now.  I have an even deeper appreciation for it after today.

This morning, the kids and I braved the pre-holiday crazies and went to Walmart.  I accidentally forgot the Boba in the van.  Instead of going back for it, I figured we’d be fine and just put Carter in the seat of the cart.

It wasn’t long before he was trying to stand up, bothering Kelvin who was in the basket part of the cart, and trying to climb into the basket part.  Finally I put him in the basket with Kelvin and that wasn’t any better.  They were wrestling, Carter was grabbing stuff and chucking it out of the cart (I ended up not buying my face wash, which I didn’t realize until we got home) and being a little terror.

But when I have him in the Boba, he’s a perfect little angel during shopping trips.  I definitely won’t be making that mistake again….Boba for life!!  Just kidding…kind of.

Can you believe it’s already almost Thanksgiving?

As usual, we’ll be traveling and spending time with family.  This year is my year so we’ll be with my family for the actual holiday (and time surrounding it) and then we’ll see Chad’s family.

I have a million and one things to do before we leave (thankfully it’s nothing involving the goconnect real estate crm app …), but hopefully I will be able to get the important ones done before we leave.  Carter certainly isn’t helping with that goal.  The boy stayed up until 11:30 tonight!!!

Carter has been taking steps for a few weeks now, but up until this week, he still preferred crawling.  In the last few days, he has taken off with his walking though!  He probably walks about 60% of the time and crawls 40% of the time now….which is a big improvement for him!  It’s so cute seeing him toddle around the house now.  I haven’t gotten a video of it since he first started walking, so I really need to do that tomorrow.    He has gotten so much more confidence lately!

About a year ago, I started replacing the elastic in my BumGenius 4.0 diapers.  It only took me a year, but I finally finished!  It’s pretty simple and straightforward, but does take some time and focus, so sometimes I would go a few months between repairing diapers.  I finally finished today!  Now I just have a few 3.0’s that need snaps and new elastic and some 4.0’s that need snaps and then all my diapers will be in perfect working order!

Carter had absolutely no schedule or routine whatsoever until he was over a year old.  Just in the last few months, he started to have regular, predictable nap times and bedtimes.

But then you throw in cutting four molars, and everything I thought we had figured out has been thrown out the window.

I have no clue when he’s going to get up, nap, go to bed, eat, scream, be content….nothing.

He took two naps today, which he never used to do.  So now it’s 9:30 and he’s still crawling around, riding his bike, turning off the TV when I’m watching it, and wreaking havoc.

I’m not sure I’m cut out for this.  Part of the reason I’m a night owl is because I use those hours after the kids are in bed to get work done, and recover my sanity from the crazy day.  Let me tell you that neither of those things is happening this last week!

I’m so thankful that I know how to play the piano so that I can teach our kids to play myself instead of shelling out for expensive lessons.  That will allow us to save up more for when they want to play other instruments.  As important as I think music education is, it certainly isn’t cheap!  You have to buy the instrument, pay for lessons, and continue to pay for the accessories and music.  I’m hoping at least one of our kids will be interested in the guitar, and then I’ll always be on the lookout for great deals to save on snark clip on guitar tuners !  My main reason for hoping they’ll learn guitar is so they can teach me!  LOL

Literally everything Carter has done so far has been different from the other kids.  This boy seems determined to keep me on my toes!

The latest abnormal thing this baby has done?  I’m glad you asked!

So far, he has his two front teeth on bottom, and four front teeth and cutting molars on top.  Tonight I noticed he’s also getting his molars on bottom!  So that means he will have only his two front teeth and his molars on the bottom.  SO WEIRD, right?!

What will he do next to surprise me?

I am feeling really burnt out.  It has been a very busy few weeks….appointments, school with two kids each day, trying to keep up with the house (luckily I don’t need carpet cleaning chapel hill nc because we don’t have any carpet), keeping up with Carter, trying to make time for extra projects.  None of this sounds out of the ordinary.  So why am I so tired and burnt out?  We have a day trip tomorrow that will prove to be exhausting, but hopefully I can recover a little this weekend.

Moms know it’s important to get quality products for their babies, while still staying within budget. Comforts for Baby products make this easy! They are available exclusively at Kroger grocery stores (and affiliates).

I have trialed their diapers, wipes, bibs, baby wash, and baby lotion and I have to say I am impressed with everything I’ve tried.  They work just as well as brand name products for way less cost.

I have to rave about the bibs, especially.  I like bibs that have a waterproof layer to keep clothes away from soggy messes.  I have searched high and low and haven’t been able to find exactly what I’m looking for….everything either doesn’t have a waterproof layer or is too stiff and plastic-y.  Imagine my surprise when I found EXACTLY what I’m looking for at Dillons!  The Comforts for Baby bibs have a flexible waterproof layer between two cloth layers.  They are awesome. and they’re also super cute.  Look for them!

Disclosure: I was provided coupons for free Comforts for Baby products to review.  All opinions are my own.

We had such a good run!  I honestly don’t remember the last time the kids were sick.  I’m guessing the beginning of the summer, maybe?

But I’ve been feeling under the weather all week.  Not really sick….in fact, during the day I was fine, but I would start getting a scratchy throat and slight cough at night.  I’m feeling yucky today, though.  And Ava has just started running a fever, so she’s coming down with something too.  Hopefully it will be a quick-passing thing and we won’t need to visit the doctor, but it’s a good thing we have health insurance just in case (if you need insurance, you can find a a health insurance agent in north carolina ).

Unfortunately, we have plans this weekend, so I really hope this doesn’t disrupt them!  I will have some disappointed kids if they don’t heal quickly!
