God, Who Are You? Week 2
Last week, At the Well…In Pursuit of Titus 2 (one of my favorite blogs) kicked off their first Bible Study series, called God, Who Are You & What Can You Do For Me? I really wanted to start it last week, but we were still stranded in Iowa and I didn’t have access to a printer to print the study guide. So I worked on it like crazy this weekend, caught up on Week 1 and I’m ready to start Week 2 along with everyone else today!
If you want to join, please go to the link above and jump right in. It’s never too late and it’s a really great study!
This week discussion questions are…
1. What does it mean to you to know that you are precious in God’s sight?
2. Can you think of a time in your life when you’ve experienced, firsthand, the LORD’s faithfulness? Share your thoughts.
For me, it’s mind-boggling to think that I mean something to the Creator of the Universe. In everyday life, I don’t really stand out much. I’m not a celebrity, I’ve never won any awards for inventing the best natural acne treatment and the ways I’m able to help others seem like just drops in the bucket. So it’s crazy to think that I’m precious to God, He knows who I am and He cares for me.
Even when I don’t see my value and others don’t notice me, He does! Isn’t that crazy?
Looking back on my life, there are so many times I can see God’s hand and His faithfulness. The biggest, most obvious one would be our move to Kansas. Before we got this opportunity, I was a full-time student and working full-time and Chad was working long, long hours for his dad. We were getting by, but there wasn’t much leftover at the end of the pay period.
Then I got pregnant and almost at the same time, we found out about this franchise being for sale for an outrageously inexpensive price. I’m not going to lie to you, I dragged my feet. Who in their right mind wants to move 600 miles away from all of their family to a place they’ve never been to start a company they know little about (Chad knew all about because his dad also owns a franchise, but I didn’t)? But everything fell into place and we moved down here.
Even though it’s still hard to be away from our family, I know that this was God’s plan for us to bless us beyond what we could imagine. I’m able to stay home with our children (which was a lifelong dream for me), we’re making more on what Chad makes now than we were on both of our incomes, we have a beautiful house in a good neighborhood (it’s easily four times as big as the teeny-tiny house we had in WI), and we have friends and a support system to boot!
Sometimes it’s really hard to let go and trust God with His plan for our lives, but it’s always worth it because He is always faithful.
