I’m always on the lookout for good gift ideas. I literally have the hardest time coming up with good gifts for the special people in my life, so when I run across something that makes me think of a certain person, I usually scoop it up before I forget!
If you like to do the same, you might want to check out these masonic rings from Joy Jewelers ! If you know someone who has any ties to the Masons, these rings would make an amazing gift for them…one they will use each and every day and that will have lots of sentimental value for them.
It is definitely one of my hopes that all 4 of the kids will learn to play a different musical instrument so that we can have our own little family band going. If we team up with all of my siblings, we might even have enough instruments and people for pyware software to create our own marching drills. I had no idea this kind of program even existed, but I think it’s super cool and comes with tons of awesome features to create drill designs for smaller schools!
Where has 2015 gone?! We’ve been so busy with home schooling and traveling that 2015 has just been a blur! We took a ton of trips this year to make up for the ones we couldn’t take while I was pregnant with Kaylee. It’s been fun, but we’re a little traveled-out and glad that we made the rule long ago that we won’t travel in the winter time!
Kaylee is 16 months old, but still acting very much like an infant. She’s taken a few steps, but has no interest in walking. And she’s a tiny little thing too. She’s only 22 pounds which is as big as Ava was at a year, Kelvin was at 7 months and Carter was at 9 months!
Now that I’m teaching two kids how to play the piano and they’re both expressing interest in learning other instruments (they say NOW, but I say they have to wait until they have a firm grasp on the piano), I find myself more and more in need of a resource like this Musicians website . By the time all four kids have learned the instruments they’re interested in, who knows how much music, accessories and instruments we’ll have bought?!
Our Thanksgiving plans have been turned upside down this year. Chad’s grandma died a little over a week ago, so we went home to attend the funeral. All of his siblings also attended, so most of them were not going to be able to make the trip home again so soon for Thanksgiving. So now we’ll be having a small Thanksgiving at our house with just our family.
It has to be suuuuper small (no leftovers!) because we’re leaving the next day for our annual Kalahari vacation with my family. My grandparents get a house for all of us and we spend 4 days at the water park and indoor amusement park. So much fun!
It’s that time again…Thanksgiving is this month! It’s time for everyone to start thinking about the traditional food, the pies, the footbal, and of course…Pilgrim, fall, and harvest themed table decorations!
A few years ago, we hosted Thanksgiving at our house for the first (and only) time. It was not something I recommend doing within the first couple months after having a baby. But I digress. It was chaos and a bunch of food didn’t turn out right, but it sure was fun shopping for decorations and setting them all up beforehand. The foundation for an amazing Thanksgiving table, of course, is the table linens! I think these Faux Burlap Fitted Tablecloth 30W x 72L x 36H – PremierTableLinens look like so much fun more a holiday table! Not only will they look natural with any holiday decor, they’re top of the line fabric AND they cover all sides of table except the side your guests sit on. On that side, they’re shorter to accommodate laps and legs. What more could you ask for??
Kaylee has always marched to the beat of her own drum. All the way back to my pregnancy with her, everything has been different. Why should teething be any exception?
She has two teeth on the bottom and four on the top. To reinforce that, she has just the two tiny little teeth on the bottom. And now she’s cutting MOLARS. Four of them, two on top and two on bottom. Why?! And as if that weren’t enough, she is also cutting her eye teeth on the bottom now, too.
She and I are both miserable messes. Neither of us sleep anymore. The other day I glanced at her absent-mindedly and my first thought was, “Wow, she needs some concealer for those under-eye circles!”
At this point, the only hope for my sanity is that these teeth come in really really fast and then we have a break for awhile since she’s getting so many at once!
It has been a night tonight. Kaylee is teething and was acting absolutely feral! I tried everything, including turning on music on my phone to try to distract her, and me, from our misery! It was a little hard to hear the music over the screaming, so I was totally wishing for some bose soundlink mobile 2 speakers so I could turn it up loud enough that maybe she would listen to it and forget to cry! Seriously, though, I would use these things all the time since I’m constantly on the go with the kids!
All the kids around here are going back to school this week. Joke’s on us because we still haven’t even finished last year!! (We started our year in October and we do school year round) We are getting back into the swing of things with going to the kids’ tae kwon do classes regularly, and attending home school group meetings. Ava is starting to talk about doing dance classes with one of her friends, too. Before I know it, I’ll be shopping for personalized dance duffles too! Eeek! This year is shaping up to be even busier than last year!
Ava is doing really well in her piano lessons and Kelvin is raring to go with starting his this fall. I can’t help but think that before we know it, they’ll be asking to play other instruments as well. And with four kids, that’s practically enough to start a band! Who knows, we might blink and suddenly we’ll be shopping for guitars and accessories like vox ac15 ! I would love to learn to play the guitar, so one can hope, right?!
